MIRIS MISLI
for large orchestra 1994 duration: 20' This piece started as an exercise to translate a piece of music into another musical idiom. The "source" that I wanted to translate was a preludium by Bach. Once the translation was finished, I cut the entire score into several hundred pieces, each containing an entire musical element. These elements I distributed on a double time scale like the original translation, according to chance operations. Subsequently I composed the connections and transitions between the single elements, that were now in an entirely different context. Back to Instrumental Music
